HUMAN RIGHTS AND MUSLIM IN ISLAM (PART 2)

islam1
When we talk about the human rights in Islam we actually mean to say those rights that have been granted by ALLAH Almighty. Not anyone has the right to withdraw them or abrogate them. These rights are not like the worldly human rights which are conferred on the piece of paper for the sake of show-off and exhibition but denied in actual life when the show is over.

Verse 5:44 of Holy Quran,

Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted [to ALLAH] judged by it for the Jews, as did the rabbis and scholars by that with which they were entrusted of the Scripture of ALLAH, and they were witnesses thereto. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not exchange My verses for a small price. And whoever does not judge by what ALLAH has revealed – then it is those who are the disbelievers.

Verse 49:11-12 of Holy Quran,

O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one’s] faith. And whoever does not repent – then it is those who are the wrongdoers. O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear ALLAH; indeed, ALLAH is Accepting of repentance and Merciful.

Islam has laid down the rule that no person can be imprisoned until and unless his guilt has been proved in an open court. To arrest a person just on the basis of some doubts or suspicion and throw him into a prison without any court proceedings and without providing that person a reasonable chance to provide something in his defence is not permissible in Islam.

Amongst the rights that religion Islam has given to human beings is the right to protest against tyranny. Referring to it the Holy Quran says in verse 4:148,

ALLAH does not like the public mention of evil except by one who has been wronged. And ever is ALLAH Hearing and Knowing.

In Islam, all power and authorities belongs to ALLAH Almighty. Islam gives human the right of freedom of expression and thought and it should be used for the propagation of truth and virtue and not for spreading evil and wickedness. Under no condition would Islam allow wickedness and evil to be propagated.
