OBLIGATORY AND VOLUNTARY CHARITY IN ISLAM

There are two kinds of charity in religion Islam that are obligatory and voluntary, well known as Zakat and Sadaqah respectively. The concept of charity can be seen in most of the communities of world. The tradition of Islam has rigid laws that are associated with it. Charity in religion Islam is seen as strengthening of the ideal of Muslim community. Every Muslim in the Islamic community is seen to reside with unity as one people.

The Holy Quran states in verse 2:110:

And establish prayer and give zakah, and whatever good you put forward for yourselves – you will find it with ALLAH. Indeed, ALLAH of what you do, is Seeing.

Charity is central to every Muslim’s life. Muslims should make reference library in masjids, where Muslims can go and study and understand Islam. From the masjid, there should be proper management for the collection and distribution of all Sadaqah and Zakat. It would benefit the whole community if each masjid would incorporate a medical clinic free of cost which can meet after Friday Prayer (Jummah Namaz) or any other day. Muslims who are in need of emergency assistance and help can receive urgent treatment. ALLAH Almighty knows each and everything we do in open or hidden, ALLAH Almighty has His own way of punishment and judgment.

Verse 2:43 of Holy Quran,

And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience].

Charitable giving (Zakaat or sadaqah) is highly commended in religion Islam as it is in most affective global traditions. It is through the act of charity or donation that one is elevated to a higher spiritual activity and feels the benefits and happiness of serving humanity. Ramadan of Holy Ramadan is the ideal and best time to give charity; any kind of giving it may be. One form of obligatory charitable giving, Zakat, is one of the five basic pillars of religion Islam. Zakat, means to purify, is giving alms to the needy and poor and it is obligatory for every adult able Muslim of sound mind and means. In the same way, many people choose to give Sadaqah, which are not obligatory but voluntary donations during Holy Ramadan another obligatory charity is paying Fitrana, that is given just before the Eid ul Fitr prayer at the end of Holy Ramadan.

Verse 2:274 of Holy Quran,

Those who spend their wealth [in ALLAH’S way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly – they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

May ALLAH Almighty make us able to give charity and gives us sense of humanity and save us and guide us away from all devils that are eager to destroy Islam in us. Ameen

HUMAN RIGHTS AND MUSLIM IN ISLAM (PART 1)

Since ALLAH Almighty is the only absolute and the sole master of men and the whole universe, ALLAH Almighty is the sovereign Lord, the Nourisher and Sustainer, the most Merciful, Whose kindness enshrines all beings; and since ALLAH Almighty has given every human dignity, wisdom and honour. Every human being is thereby link to others and with this all become one community of brotherhood.

In such a divine environment the Islamic confession of the oneness of ALLAH Almighty stands dominant and most significant, and necessarily entails the concept of the unity of humanity and the brotherhood of humankind. Though an Islamic society may be set up in any part of the world, Islam does not seek to restrict or bound human rights to the geographical boundaries of its own state. Religion Islam has laid down a number of universal basic and fundamental rights for humankind as a whole, which are to be respected and observed under all conditions. Either a person is resident within its own territory of the Islamic state or living outside it, whether he is at state of peace or with the state of war.

Verse 5:80 of Holy Quran,

You see many of them becoming allies of those who disbelieved. How wretched is that which they have put forth for themselves in that ALLAH has become angry with them, and in the punishment they will abide eternally.

Human blood is holy in any situation and case and cannot be spilled without any kind of justification. And if anyone violates this sacredness of the blood of Human by killing a soul without any justification, the Holy Quran equates it to the killing of whole mankind.

Verse 5:32 of Holy Quran,

Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors.

It is not allowed to tyrannize anyone, women, sick, children, old people, or the wounded or any human being. Women’s honour is to be respected under all the conditions. The hungry people must be fed, the naked one are to be clothed and the wounded or diseased should be treated medically irrespective of whether they are Muslim or not or either belong to the Islamic community or are from amongst Islam enemies.

Verse 2:256 of Holy Quran,

There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in ALLAH has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And ALLAH is Hearing and Knowing.

IMPORTANCE OF NAMAZ IN ISLAM

Verse 24:36-37 of Holy Quran,

[Such niches are] in mosques which ALLAH has ordered to be raised and that His name be mentioned therein; exalting Him within them in the morning and the evenings. [Are] men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the remembrance of ALLAH and performance of prayer and giving of zakah. They fear a Day in which the hearts and eyes will [fearfully] turn about –

When anyone from amongst you sets out from his house (for the masjid) he must say softly to himself words of remembrance [of ALLAH] – words unconnected with the business and affairs of this world. He must set out calmly, sombrely, he must set out with (his heart full of) longing and wish [for ALLAH’S pleasure] and apprehension and fear [of ALLAH’S anger] and with humbleness and meekness towards ALLAH Almighty. For the more modest, the more submissive he is to

ALLAH Almighty, the more righteous and virtuous does he become in namaz and the greater becomes his reward, and the more righteous and nearer to ALLAH Almighty becomes the worshipper. But whoever is filled with pride, ALLAH Almighty will destroy him and will reject his deeds, for the act and deeds of the proud are never accepted. So let none of you fright the dust, nor find it distasteful to make Sajda in it, for there is not any kind of doubt that every one of you comes from it (i.e. mankind was created from dust).

ALLAH Almighty showers His Mercy upon the worshipper who approaches prayer in a state of humbleness and meekness towards ALLAH Almighty, in fear and supplicating Him with wish (for His Pleasure), and in hope (of His Mercy), making Namaz, his most significant consideration, dedicating his whispered utterances to ALLAH Almighty and his standing straight in worship and his ruku and his Sajda, fill his heart and his feelings and struggling to perfect his acts of ibadah (worship), for he knows whether he will perform another namaz after it, or whether he will be overtaken (by death) before he can perform namaz again.

A person should stands before ALLAH Almighty, sincerely, with deep feelings, hopeful for its acceptance and fearing its rejection, for verily, its acceptance is a reason for joy, while its rejection is a reason for sadness and wretchedness. Nothing could be more significant to you in Salah, or indeed in any of your actions [i.e. that ALLAH Almighty accepts them]. What is more deserving of your sorrow and misery, your fear, indeed your terror, you do not know whether your namaz will be accepted or not.

Verse 2:3 of Holy Quran,

Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them.
